An exciting and newly created opportunity for a Commercial Finance Analyst to join the ambitious team in an exceptional business with fantastic values. You will report to the Finance Business Partner and work closely with the trading team building relationships with stakeholders across the business bringing value and forward looking strategy.
The purpose of the role is;
-Supporting the delivery of revenue and operating profit targets through value-add analysis & insight
-Liaising with the wider Trading team to drive effective decision making across ranging, pricing, specifications and opex/capex investment.
-Managing the delivery of the weekly P&L, encompassing some of the key strategic & high market share categories within the business.
-Supporting the delivery of revenue and operating profit targets through business partnering, value-add analysis & insight
-Supporting the Finance Business Partner in working with the Commercial teams to optimise the financial performance of the Trading Area, by identifying drivers of performance and working with the commercial teams to optimise our setup/offer.
-Working with the commercial team to build and review Budgets, Forecasts and understand the short- and longer-term performance trends against these. Also, to forecast through weekly trade reviews, monthly performance analysis and Quarterly Cluster reviews. Supporting the delivery of our forecast through identification and analysis of R&O’s
-Product and Store profitability analysis, working alongside the Finance Business Partner, to maximise the performance of our product portfolio.
-Partnering the commercial teams to evaluate and track the performance of all New Product Development.
-Collaborating with the specialised teams to identify ‘cost out’ opportunities in our products and supporting the delivery of these projects through rigorous financial analysis and governance.
-Supporting the delivery of the monthly commercial review process – challenging BU forecasts, R&O and working alongside FP&A in the delivery of the outputs.
-Key Event tracking – develop and own key event performance tracking within the cluster and support the commercial review pre event as well as Post Implementation Reviews.
Commercial Skills and behaviours
-Experience / understanding of sales to gross profit is essential
-Retail Finance / FMCG / Manufacturing / Supply Chain is essential
-Strong commercial acumen and business partnering experience
-Ability to communicate with impact to senior management, business stakeholders and wider finance teams
-Good commercial understanding of the business & market
-Quick learner, enthusiastic and solution driven
-Manufacturing experience desirable in this role
Finance Systems (SAP & Business Intelligence is desirable)
