They are also in rapid & unprecedented growth and now require an experienced and business-facing Commercial Finance Manager to manage the production finance function for their UK division.
Reporting to the Finance Director and sitting in the production business you will manage /develop a Team of in-house Production who support the global production team on all finance-related matters/projects.
Key Responsibilities:
• Working with global production finance teams to ensure consistency in production reporting & analysis and enforcing best practices across divisions
• Primary Financial Business Partner to Executive Producers, Producers, and other members of the Production teams
• Partner with Business Leaders and Senior Finance Leaders to align with overall business strategy
• Collaborate with FP&A to provide commentary on margin results and support with revenue forecast and direct cost base elements in periodic business forecast
• Primary owner of Direct Margin in Project P&L
• Manage all financial aspects of production accounting / analysis including bidding, cost tracking, cash flow analysis, headcount tracking, variance analysis, forecasting Estimated Final Cost (EFC) and profit analysis
• Collaborate with Producers to estimate and evaluate production health against milestones and data metrics
• Develop and improve the existing toolsets to drive efficiencies and create better control processes
• Collaborate with Producers to track revenue changes on the project
• Prepare monthly revenue recognition and revenue forecast as a part of month-end close process
• Identify, capture, and report on critical show metrics and KPIs
• Support Producers and oversee the re-bidding process by monitoring key metrics
• Prepare end of show post-mortems and communicate lessons learned to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements
• Identify Production Tax Credit opportunities, prepare Tax Credit applications and coordinate required tax credit audits
• Facilitate financial training for new Producers / Project Managers
• Manage/develop a team of Production Analysts/Accountants
Required Experience/Skills:
• Qualified Accountant ideally but QBE’s with a relevant production accounting background will also be considered
• A proven background in financial analysis/finance business partnering gained in a media environment (ideally TV & Film)
• Prior experience of managing /developing a finance team with a passion for getting the best out of their team
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
•A passion for Film & TV who thrives in a creative, fast-paced industry
•Ability to quickly establish credibility with Production Managers and non-financial creative/stakeholders
• Stellar IT skills with advanced Excel.
