They are also in rapid growth and as a result of this have created a new role for a Head of Finance to manage their UK financial operations.
Reporting to the COO this is a hands-on, varied role covering all aspects of operational & commercial finance as well as leading a small team.
Primary Responsibilities
- To manage the finance dept on a day to day basis, ensuring that it provides effective support to the company
- Working with the COO to ensure best practice in the financial function of the Company
- Oversee the completion of monthly management accounts in a timely fashion
- Supporting Finance Director in operational reviews of each division
- Manage & develop a small but growing finance team
- To monitor, report and forecast financial covenants for debt providers
- To ensure that all appropriate internal and external accounting and financial reporting systems and controls are in place
- To support the COO in setting annual budgets, forecasts and operational reviews for the Company
- To oversee the Company’s cash flow and prepare cash-flow forecasts on a monthly basis
- Preparation of Board reports and report on financial matters to the Board.
- To ensure all companies house and HMRC returns, various surveys and censuses are completed in a timely manner
- To oversee annual audit and ensure it is completed in a timely manner
- To manage the relationship with banks, auditors, Tax advisors and finance providers as necessary in conjunction with the Finance Director .
- To ensure that the company complies with all relevant financial regulations
- Manage foreign exchange risk through various strategies employed by the company.
Skills & Experience:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
- Experience as an FC/ Senior FC of managing a core finance function in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial SME environment
- Previous experience in the media/entertainment sector (ideally TV/Film) preferred but not essential
- Proven expertise in managing/developing a team with a passion for getting the best out of your staff
- Hands-on but also business facing and able to take a bigger picture approach
- Excellent report writing skills
- Keen attention to detail
- Self-starter and team player
- Willingness and ability to take on ad-hoc projects
- Ability to manage several projects simultaneously
- Ability and interest in improving processes
