Their production division is in rapid growth and due to this they have created a new role for a Qualified Accountant with a production finance background to act as a bridge between production and accounting managing the finances and act as the primary business partner for all productions globally.
-Manage all financial aspects of their global development and production activities acting as their key business partner.
-Reviewing and if necessary challenging the budgets for all development and productions advising on appropriateness of budget structures to optimise tax credit opportunities.
-Waterfall modelling for deals to support negotiations with broadcast partners and coproduction partners.
-Main finance point of contact throughout greenlight process. Drafting of greenlight packages for approval in accordance with greenlighting process.
-Act as the primary finance contact point for co-production partners and studios.
-Responsible for ensuring accounting and reporting of development and production spends.
-Liaise with commercial finance team as key partner on development and production spend, annual budget, quarterly forecast cash flows and periodic KPI analysis.
-Manage the update slate documents to ensure a clear & visible current snapshot of production status and visibility of upcoming anticipated projects.
-Scrutinise cost reports from production partners including interrogating and challenging if appropriate.
-Oversee royalty reporting.
-Manage a small production finance team.
-Ad-hoc project & analysis work as directed by the FD and Production Heads.
-Qualified Accountant with a proven background in (TV /Film) production finance.
-Significant experience in acting as the primary business partner between production & finance.
-Good knowledge of the major financing models for global productions eg subsidy models, tax credits.
-Demonstrable experience of managing and challenging cost reports and budgets across multiple projects.
-Highly personable with Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
-Thrives in a creative, fast-paced industry with a passion for TV production.
-Ability to quickly establish credibility with Production Managers and non-financial creative/stakeholders and push back in a diplomatic but firm way.
-Excellent IT skills with advanced Excel and modelling skills.
